GRADING POLICY
There will be six (50 minutes) quizzes, a
(1 hour and 15 minutes) midterm exam, and a (2-hour) final exam. Two lowest
quizzes will be dropped. Each quiz is worth 10%, and each exam is worth 25%. The
midterm exam covers Chapters 1 & 2, and the (noncumulative) final exam only
tests Chapters 3-5.
In this semester, all tests are
carried out online through Canvas in the open-book format, but your cell phone
must be turned off. The online test will be available for you to open 5 minutes
earlier than the scheduled test time. You don't need to print out the test but
just prepare enough blank papers to write down your solutions. You must finish
your test work in the designated period of time, then use extra 15 minutes to picture all your test
work and submit them through Canvas. If anyone of you had trouble to submit
their pictured test work through Canvas, you should immediately email your
pictures to me, directly, but this would only happen when your online submission
fails.
